I still can't believe its been 9 years since the tragic day of 9/11. I'm so proud to be an American, and am thankful for all the men and women who fight for our freedom! My heart and prayers still go out to those who lost their lives and to the people who lost loved ones. God Bless America!!!

This weekend Tyler and I had the privilege to go to St. Paul Minnesota and experience the Red Bull Flugtag, it was a blast! Tyler is the Red Bull Manager at General Distributing and works along side the actual Red Bull company so we were invited to go. Although it was a quick trip, it was all payed for and well worth it! St. Paul was so beautiful, and very very green!

If you don't know what the Flugtag is...people form a team and come up with some sort of flying device that they have to push off this 30 ft. platform into the water (in St. Paul it was the Mississippi River) to see who can fly/float the farthest. They also have to perform some sort of skit/dance before and are judged on that as well, it's free to enter and free to go watch! There were some pretty awesome and entertaining skits and air crafts! There were some professional judges, the Vikings linebacker, a professional snowmobiler (Red Bull athlete), and a professional Olympic skier (Red Bull athlete), etc. They estimated that there were 90,000 people there watching, it was packed! We were given VIP passes that sat us really close to the event on the water, so we were able to see everything great! The most exciting thing that happened was the Flugtag world record was broken, it hasn't been for 19 years. It was set at 195 feet, and the team that won this weekend reached 207 feet. Lake Powell

So we are back from Lake Powell, and I'm so glad we were able to go down with my relatives and enjoy their company and the beauty of the lake! I still don't know why they chose the middle of July because it was over 100 degrees, but it was totally worth it(and actually wasn't as bad as I thought it might be)! I used to go every year with them, but haven't for about 6 years so it was great to go back! It was even better to be able to go with Tyler and Easton and experience it with them. We had a great time swimming, playing volleyball, wakeboarding, hiking, and sight seeing. I forgot to take pictures the first 2 days we were there so these are all of the last 3 days...

Happy 25th Birthday Ty!!!

I can't believe it, 25 (ok, I know it is not old at all...but we are getting older thats for sure!) and still looking goooood babe! Men are like wine: some turn to vinegar, but the best improve with age!

Thank you for just being you Ty, for making me laugh always, working hard everyday, being a great daddy to Easton and husband to me! Easton and I are so lucky to have you, and we love you so much forever and always!! I hope 25 is good to you!

I love summer time soooo much, even though it seems like we are getting shorter and shorter ones each year!? I just love the feeling of the sun shining down on my face, playing outside with the fam., swimming/laying out, snow shacks, walks at night, rodeos, city town days, parades, fireworks, 4th & 24th of July, sitting outside at night on our swing chair, bbq's, how light it stays at night, boating, camping, etc. but most of all vacations!! I'm pretty excited for our vacations this summer, in about 3 weeks we are headed to this beautiful place...

I'm so so excited to go to Powell because I haven't been in 6 or 7 years! I know way too long! I used to go every year with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins, but it's hard when you get your own family and have busy schedules. But it fit in this year and I'm so excited to go with Tyler and Easton! Just a little nervous about how hot it will be for Easton. We don't have a house boat but my aunt and uncle have a camper and we'll just have to load him up on sunblock!

Tyler and I are also excited to take a fun quick trip to Minneapolis in July for his work. Tyler is the Red Bull manager at General Distributing over all of Utah and he chose to go to Twin Cities for the Red Bull Flugtag. We are both pretty excited because neither of us have been there before! I know we won't have a ton of time, but I am hoping we can check out this place...

And last but not least, in August we are going with my parents to wonderful and beautiful...

I used to go almost every summer with my family for about 5 or 6 years. I also took Ty one year when we were engaged, so it will be fun to be able to go back together and to take Easton and let him experience the ocean and everything!! I hope no one takes this as bragging, I'm just really excited to go on these trips because we haven't been on big ones like these in a couple years because we had a lot going on.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of taking my beautiful sister-in-law Taneal's senior pictures. We took our family pictures just this past fall with our Canon powershot (SX20 IS) nothing too fancy but a nice camera...and just did basic photoshop on them since I'm not educated well with photoshop. Anyways, Taneal had asked me to take them so I agreed to not thinking much because when I took our family pictures it wasn't as fun because lets just say it was a long day! I actually had a lot of fun shooting pictures of Taneal, she is so cute, petite, and such a talented amazing dancer & young woman!!! I was pretty pleased with the outcome even though I'm no pro...and would maybe even consider taking a photography class and learning more about photoshop! Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from that day.

I have been thinking about lightening my hair up a little for summer. It's too hard to keep my roots from getting light so fast in the sun (I'm naturally blonde) because lets face it I'm a summer girl. But I like my dark hair a lot so I'm torn on weither to change or not...help!?

I'm so glad we have Mother's Day to take the time to appreciate all the strong, hard working women out there! I am so very blessed to have 2 of those women in my life! I feel so grateful knowing that they are always there for me to talk to, and that they are such great role models in my life! I love the way they both take care of Easton and love him so much! Thank you both for all you do!!!

I am also so grateful to be a Mother myself especially to my handsome, smart, adorable, cute (I could keep going...) little man Easton! I love him more then I could have ever imagined I would! I am also so blessed to have a very hard working, loving, understanding husband who makes me feel good about myself everyday! I love you both so very much!!!

This Easter was such a fun one with Easton! We had so much fun being able to watch him get into all the Easter egg hunts, dyeing eggs, all the candy, and getting so excited to hang out with family! He is such a joy and makes holidays so fun for Ty and I!

Ok so in the last post I mentioned briefly how much Easton loves taking baths, but that doesn't do it justice. Easton is OBSESSED with bath/shower time! He loves water, and being able to play with his bath toys too. So the other day I captured some of these moments with him in the bath and again last night in the shower.

P.S. We have been enjoying these past couple days of NICE weather, by going to the park and walks. Hope everyone else is loving it too!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Easton

I figured I haven't just updated on Easton lately...so here it goes. Easton is growing up so fast I can't even believe it! It makes me happy and sad at the same time. Sad because I want him to be my little man always, but happy because he has such a fun little personality and it is so fun to watch him grow and change. He is now almost 17 months old and loves to play with his toys, laugh, tease rocky, run, take baths, read books, and play with his cousins. Easton finds himself getting into trouble when he tries to torment Rocky, but she finds a way to take it. He loves to chase her around the house with this little lawn mower he has and laughs so hard when she sits and barks at it. Easton also loves spending time with his Grandparents, Aunts, & Uncles (and they don't spoil him at all...haha!)

Tyler and I love spending all our time with Easton and can't believe all the stuff he knows and learns everyday. He is a fast learner, we taught him some sign language when he was about 9 or 10 months and he still uses them and is learning more. He also loves to talk and knows a ton of words, he just loves to jabber too! Sometimes we'll be driving in the car and he'll just start jabbering to himself or if we are listening to music it sounds like he's trying to sing along. He cracks us up! He's also a dancer, I like to think he gets it from me, haha! Easton also loves to throw his baseball and has loved to for awhile now, he already has a pretty good arm! A few months ago he learned to catch it, and he learned it pretty fast! He must get that from daddy!

Easton loves when Ty gets home from work because he has been working longer hours and by the end of the day I'm sure he is getting sick of me too. Ty and Easton love to rough house together and Easton loves to be thrown in the air by Ty. They are such good buds, and I think they always will be!

Easton also has a sweet spot for mommy, and usually when he is upset he cries for "Mommy". It melts my heart and makes me feel good. I love my days off, because I know it's just my time to spend with my bubby! I hope it's always like that with us, even when I'm not as cool to him.

So we finally after a long time of thinking and talking about it, bought a puppy! We picked it up last Sunday and it was only 6 1/2 weeks old, so now it is about 7 weeks. It is a female fawn colored Boxer. She is still going to have to learn a lot, but she is really fun and super cute! We all love her especially Easton (except when she tries to bite him)!

I have to admit this year I feel like December has crept up on me and I was so not ready for it! The worst part is that it is now December 11th and I just barely decorated my house and put my tree up...and Ty put our lights up today. Talk about procrastinating! I also just noticed today that my calendar is still in November?! Wow haha! We luckily got all our Christmas shopping done pretty fast! I am happy about all the things we purchased and am excited to give our gifts to family! I love giving gifts rather than receiving, and I am especially excited to celebrate Easton's 2nd Christmas this year with him! It's always so much fun to watch the little kids on Christmas! We are now looking forward to family traditions and some new ones of our own, and just being able to spend quality time with our family and friends!! Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays as well!!

Man this last week has been crazy busy, and it flew by! We were busy at the beginning of the week getting everything put together for Easton's big day...yes that is right we officially have a 1 year old on our hands! So weird to think!! We finished up some Birthday shopping (boy oh boy was that little boy spoiled, with gifts and with love!), we finished straighting up our house, and we made him a Birthday video! I was really excited about this video we decided to put together for him, so excited that I stayed up till 3 AM Wednesday morning making it! Wednesday day after Tyler got off work we were able to just hang out with Easton all day and enjoy him! Then later in the evening we picked up his FREE 1st Birthday cake from Albertsons (if any of you have a 1 year old soon get their cakes there!) and got the house decorated for his guests to arrive! My family and Tyler's family came over to enjoy Easton's Birthday as well! We opened presents and watched the video together then enjoyed watching Easton scream at us for making him sit naked and get cake all over himself!? For some reason he hated it?! It might have been the fact that he got really close to touching a flame and I scared him by yelling "NO!"...but I honestly don't think he likes the feeling of the cake all over him. Poor boy! It turned out to be a really awesome day that went by too fast!! Tyler and I were so excited for our little man we felt like it was our Birthdays! Words cannot explain how much of a blessing Easton is in our lives and many other peoples lives as well. Our love for him grows everyday and we only hope the very best for him everyday of his life!

Then Thursday Tyler and I went out on our date night! We decided to eat at the PIE up at the University of Utah and then headed over the watch THRILLER! Which was amazing as usual!!! We had some time to kill because we were early so we ended up just walking around talking and laughing it was so much fun! I hope Tyler knows how much I love him and appreciate him coming with me, I know he enjoyed it because it has humor in it...but I'm sure it wouldn't be his top choice of how he'd spend his evening!

Pumpkin Picking

Yesterday Easton went for his first trip to a pumpkin patch, he loved it! He had fun walking through all the pumpkins and had to stop at almost all of them to touch them himself. He is silly! I can't believe a year ago at this time he was about to enter our lives, and now a week from today I will have a one year old!

So for the last month or so Easton has been really close to walking and seemed a little more stable while we were walking with him. Then just this last week, one night Ty and I decided to sit in our living room and get Easton to walk back and forth to us. We had tried it before but he would only take like 2 or 3 steps then fall down. But the night we decided to do it he walked pretty far across our living room (about 10 or so steps). I can't believe how big he is getting, he makes Ty and I so proud everyday, we couldn't ask for a better baby! He is so full of love and happiness and we are so blessed to have such a beautiful boy in our lives!

This is a really short random post for me, but I was really excited about this! So after about a month and a half of being without a camera (which I must say is really really hard for me because I love taking pictures of our family, especially Easton who is growing and doing new things everyday!) we finally found one that we liked a lot! We splurged a little, but we take pictures all the time, so why not have a nice camera to take good ones! We purchased a Canon powershot 12.1 megapixel digital (I know some of you are probably like well my camera is nicer...but this is the first 'nice' camera for Ty and I!)
I'm the one that broke our...I mean Ty's old camera because I was forgetful and left it on the back of the car after we had gone on a hike, after hearing a thump we saw it flying across the road and stopped to find the batteries in one place on the road and the camera still in the case but broken on the side of the road. Oops! Well goodbye old camera, and hello new one!

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions.

The letters T and G are very close to each other on the keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dangit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

Why is school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

Tuesday is Ty's 24th Birthday! What an old fart...JK! I just wanted to write a post about how happy I am that he was born and even happier that he is a part of my life! He is the most amazing husband and dad! He is always so patient, understanding, loving, positive, and he makes my life so much better every day! Ty is such a hard worker and is always striving to achieve things. He has accomplished so many things in his life and has made so many people proud of him! Ty and I have been through so much together and he is like my crutch when I need him. I don't know how much better to explain my feelings for Ty other than...:

Leland N. Smith "Papa" Leland N. Smith, 81, died on June 12, 2009. He was born on May 24, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LaVerne and George Smith. He graduated from South High School and the University of Utah. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked at Hercules Corp. Married Joan E. Porter on June 23, 1967. Our papa had the most kind, gentle and generous heart that he opened to everyone. His family and friends were his life. He loved to travel. Some of his most favorite times were being with his family in Laguna Beach, watching Karli and Christian play on the beach. Survived by his wife, two daughters Alisa (Greg) Nicholes (Karli, Christian), and Jennifer Smith. Four children from a previous marriage, Dane (Gloria) Smith, Rock (Sherrie) Smith, Tracy (Randy) Bendixen, and Randy Smith. Brother Harold (Dorothy) Smith and brother-in-law David (Dianne) Porter. Preceded in death by parents, a sister Helen (Allen) Searle and brother LaMar Smith. The strength we have as a family is because of your love. You will live forever in our hearts, thank you. "Life's a beach and keep an eye out for the dolphins."

To me he was Uncle Lee, he was such a loving man with a positive out-look on life, and a great sense of humor! He will forever be missed by many! Love you Lee!

We took Easton for his first swim in a pool last weekend, and he absolutely loved it! We put him in his little swim suit (which was still too big for him) and his shades and he splashed around, laughed, and talked to us the whole time! I'm so glad he's not scared of the water, because I love summa time and swimming!!

St. George Weekend

So this last weekend Tyler, Easton, and I took a little trip down to St. George for Ty's fast-pitch softball tournament. It was so warm and sunny down there!

We left Friday morning at about 10:30 and arrived in St. George at 3:30. Easton was so good, we only stopped once in Fillmore to eat and to feed him. He slept lots, looked out the window, and would gab to us a lot...it was so much fun!

Friday night we went out to dinner at Chilis then went shopping at the Zion outlets, they have such good deals there! We also went to Target and then to the Blue Bunny for some dang good ice cream! Ty also drove me out to Tuacahn to look at the cool outdoor theatre that is in Snow Canyon, it would be so fun to go to a play there! Saturday Ty's tournament was at the Canyons Complex, his first game was at 9AM and then they played 3 more games after that (lets just say it was sort of a long day for me trying to entertain Easton in the heat because he didn't sleep that much, at least they had canopies set up over the bleachers...and he was really good for how long it was). I love watching Ty play baseball (even though this is fast-pitch) it's really something he loves to do! They ended up winning 2 games and losing 2, they actually did really good for the beginning of the season and for not practicing at all! That night we ate at the Pizza Factory..MMM..then drove around looking at the nice homes there...I think I could live there!

Sunday we sat by the pool for a bit, went over to Old Navy and grabbed a bite to eat at In-N-Out Burger before we hit the road. It was a fun but too short get away and I want to go back!

One last thing I forgot to mention...Easton got his first haircut Thursday before we left. He needed one it was starting to look like he was sporting a hair piece!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter as much as we are, and are spending it with those they love! We had such a fun evening last night coloring Easter eggs, here are a few of them...

I absolutely love holiday traditions, and so does Tyler and we hope to always carry them out with our children! This morning Easton had some big surprises from the Easter Bunny, he was set out on an Easter egg hunt which led him to an Easter basket full of goodies! The Easter Bunny did such a good job and it was so fun to watch him play with the eggs and his basket! I can't wait for him to get older and see how excited he gets when he knows what is going on! I've been slacking lately mostly because we've been so busy in the Wartman house I haven't had time to post. We finally moved in to our home and are still in the process of setting things up and arranging things to our liking. And with me it's a real process because I'm such a procrastinator and always have been! But I am happy we are in and starting to get settled! Other than that we are just trying to keep up with the world moving around us still, I sometimes wish I could push a pause button!

Tyler is working really hard like usual and rushing home from work to spend the rest of the day with his family. He is starting up fast-pitch softball again and his first few games will be in a tournament down in St. George in a couple weeks so we are looking forward to that little get away! It's fun to be able to still watch him play something he loves so much! Tyler had also been growing his hair out over the winter months (it was really the longest I had ever seen it!) and finally let me cut it! Although when I was getting ready to cut it like I usually do, he said he just wanted me to buzz it even all over, I was shocked but excited because I knew I was gonna make this a fun experience....so here you go:

I too have been working part time still and love spending the rest of my time with Tyler and Easton! I have been choreographing a lyrical dance for some high school girls in my Mother-in-laws dance studio, it is fun but makes me miss dancing so much! I have also been pondering how I want to decorate our home, what a task!

Easton is getting so big, we can't believe how fast he is growing up! It is exciting but sad too because I want him to stay small! He is such an amazing little boy, he is always so happy and content except for when he gets hungry then he lets us know he is upset! But really he just loves playing with his toys, loves hanging out with Tyler and I, loves his bath time, rolls around like crazy, oh and loves his FOOD!! Everyday he reminds us how blessed we are to have him in our lives! Here are a few updated pictures of Easton...

Easton is now 4 months and so much fun! He is such an easy baby, and Tyler and I love spending every second with him! He talks to us, laughs when we tickle him, sleeps very well, and loves his bottle still! He had his 4 month doctor appointment last week and he is now 14 lbs. and 25 inches long! The doctor says he is growing right on schedule and is where he needs to be! He is such a strong boy now, he loves his tummy time and has rolled from his belly to his back once. So we are waiting to see how long it takes him to go from his back over to his belly, he almost has it! He also loves to grab at everything (especially my hair). We are so blessed to have him in our lives and can't believe how fast he is growing up, but he will always be our little monkey!

Although to this day I still feel Valentines Day is over-rated, I love being able to spend it with my best friend/husband, and my baby! Tyler took me to GOODWOOD on Friday night then brought me home some Cold Stone ice cream Saturday night. We decided not to do gifts this year and I told him no flowers because they go up in price and it's ridiculous! I hope everyone had a Happy Valentines Day though and were able to spend it with those they love!

My sister and bro-in-law got World Tour for Christmas, and it is so much fun to play! My family went over to their house to watch the U of U game (Wahoo so happy they won!!) and to play World Tour! It was real fun, and we are addicted to playing it! I like playing anything even though I'm not that great at it (especially singing, LOL!) it is still so fun!

In the first picture it's my sister Lindsey and my nephew Porter (yes he was singing Linkin Park) I was on bass, my bro-in-law Ammon was on guitar, and my dad was on drums!

And Easton got to hang out with his favorite cousin Porter! He loves watching everything Porter does, I think they'll be great friends!

Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! We sure did, but they came and went way too fast!! We enjoyed spending time with family, going to a few movies, playing games, and of course eating lots of yummy food!

Tyler and I had asked for a laptop from my parents for Christmas, and we just picked one out yesterday. I love it! When we opened it up we noticed that it has a webcam and lets us take these very funny ugly pics!

I promise we were laughing so hard at little Eastons faces! Poor baby!

Wow it's been a little bit since I have last blogged, the Holidays are always busy for us especially with a little one now! So I will quickly update on what we have been doing (sorry for the picture overload)!

Tyler and I have been trying to spend all our time with Easton basically, because we can't believe how fast he is growing up! He is now 2 months old and is still so handsome! We had his 2 month appointment yesterday and he is doing great! He now weighs 11 lbs. and is about 23 inches long.

As you can see he really enjoys his bottle...

...and absolutely HATES when it is taken away! LOL!

He also loves his sleep, and is VERY good at it! Which we are very thankful for so that we can get our sleep too!

He likes his baths, but hates when they are over because he gets cold when we take him out and doesn't like lotion on him!

Really though we couldn't ask for a better baby, he is so easy and really so fun to hang out with!!

As for Tyler he is just working very hard right now especially through the Holidays, but rushes home so he can spend all afternoon with us! And I am just enjoying my last couple of weeks at home with my boys until I have to go back to work :( . I'm only going back part time, like 18 hours but still it will be very hard!

Sorry it's short and sweet...but I wish every one a very Merry Christmas!!

So we just recently got our announcement pictures of Easton back and this one was our absolute favorite! My sister and brother-in-law did an AMAZING job!!! He wasn't very happy about the photo shoot, but you wouldn't be able to tell at all by this photo! He was such a trooper!

A little update as well, everything has been going great with all of us! Easton is just growing up too fast! He is now almost 6 weeks and weighs 10 lbs! Good healthy boy!! Ty and I are great too, just trying to spend as much time with Easton because we don't want to miss a thing!

We finally have our little guy home from the hospital, and it is such a relief! Those 2 weeks were really hard on all of us and now we can just try to forget about it! He has been such a blessing in our lives and is such a good baby! He had his 2 week appt. today (2 weeks already! It really does go by so fast!) and everything is going great! He is now 21 and 1/2 inches long and weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces...growing boy! I'm just so happy he is healthy!!

So we were finally given a final answer that Easton needed to be in the NICU a total of 14 days to complete his antibiotic treatment (starting from the day he went in). He has already completed 6 and has 8 more to go. I know we are very lucky because we hear of other little babies down in the NICU that have to be in there for much much longer then he does, have already been in there for awhile, and are in much worse conditions, but I just feel like this time is going sooo slow! We cherish the time we are in there with him and absolutely hate when we are home without him, but we try to find things to do to take our minds off of it so we don't get too depressed (almost impossible!!) On a more positive note, we love being able to hold him while we are there and feed him, he melts our hearts every time we spend the day with him. We usually try to be there throughout the day because we know we need to get our rest at night so that he has strong parents to come home to. Also they decided to do a piccline in his little arm to give him is antibiotic for the remainder of the time he is there because they were having to replace his IVs so often and were having to do it mostly in his head where his veins are bigger and more noticeable. I'm glad they decided to do this because it broke my heart every time they removed one because it left bruises on his scalp. I know those will get better but I know how painful they can be and just hate that our little man had to go through it all! Overall he is recovering very well and looks as healthy as can be, I can't wait for next week when he is home with us!

A Little Bit Of Both...

The Good:
Our beautiful bundle of joy Easton was born October 21st at 1:23 P.M. He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 and a half inches long! Big strong boy! The delivery was smooth and was only 40 min! We couldn't have been happier with the outcome, he stole our hearts the minute we saw him!!!
The Not So Good:
A couple of hours after he was born our little man started making funny grunting sounds, we thought it was just him trying to relieve gas, but turned out that he wasn't getting enough oxygen, and was starting to turn purple. So to monitor him better they immediately took him down to the NICU to start running tests on him. Turns out he has Group B Strep and RDS (Respiratory Distress Syndrome) and has been in the hospital since. He has been improving daily and is almost off the oxygen and breathing on his own! I'm so glad he was a full term baby because he is being super strong about all of this and will hopefully be home with us sometime late next week! It's really hard for Tyler and I to go through this because it is almost the exact same thing I experienced with myself while I was pregnant, but he is so little it's really heart breaking to see him hooked up to all those machines and IVs! It's even harder that we were discharged from the hospital yesterday and he still has to stay there, but they are very good at letting us visit whenever we want!

I just want to thank all of those who have given us their love, support, and prayers! Everyday seems to be looking up! I have lots of new born pics I will post when I have more time, most our time right now is devoted to visiting our little guy!

Starting To Feel Anxious!

After our last doctors appointment on Friday and hearing that I haven't made any progress on my own, Tyler and I started to get a little more anxious on weither we were going to be ready to have him Thursday (my inducement date) or not. We've got input from so many people on tricks that helped them move the process a little faster, so we've been trying everything...even if they are wise tales I'm willing to try them!

One was fourwheeling, which I didn't mind because the mountains are so pretty right now! We went up to Brighton the weekend before and walked around Silver Lake and took lots of pretty pictures.

So this last Sunday after church we decided to go up American Fork Canyon. We drove up to Tibble Fork Reservoir and saw that once you go beyond it, it is unpaved and figured that with all the bumps it might do the trick. So we ended up off-roading about 10 miles up the canyon, and wheither the bumps helped to dialate me or not I really enjoyed the scenery! I love love love fall and wish it lasted longer!

I absolutely love taking drives up the canyons and enjoying the beauty of it, but it makes me sad to see how many people take advantage of it and throw their trash everywhere!

Anyways I hope to get more positive feedback from the doc. tomorrow! Wish me luck!

That's right this is just a quick update on me and NO baby yet...I am now at 39 weeks and have about 9 days until my inducement date if I'm ready by then, but hopefully before! Keep your fingers crossed!!! Other then that I am feeling ok besides the fact that I can't breath very good because I am so stuffed up, I'm getting less and less sleep, more contractions, and I feel like I'm getting bigger by the moment! I keep thinking how that is possible because I already feel like a blimp, but I just keep telling myself to stay positive because the outcome is going to be AMAZING and I can't wait to have him here! And I know Tyler is just as excited!

Easton Update...

Yes we have officially decided on the name Easton Tyler, for those of you who haven't heard, we love it and love him so so much too! We are so excited for the day that we will be able to hold him and see what he looks like! In the mean time we are just finishing decorating his room and going to doctor appt. weekly now. Yes, today was the last time we go every 2 weeks and we start going every week...we were also able to set a date on when I can be induced. I'm able to do this because of all the problems I've had with the kidney infections. It's not much sooner then my official due date (Oct. 17th), but it's still something to look forward to! At the same time though I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up because if I don't dialate enough on my own by the inducement date then I just have to wait. Other then that everything is going great, he's sounding great, moving regularly, and remains head down and hopefully stays that way till it's time!

Like I said we haven't yet completely finished his room so I haven't posted pics of it, but I did just finish this cute name decoration and was pretty happy with the outcome. I don't think of myself as a very crafty person so when I do something crafty I'm proud of myself!

Labor Day Vaca.

Over the weekend my family and I went out of town to good old Mesquite and Vegas. It was short but much needed! I haven't really gone anywhere this summer so it was nice to get out of town, even though we decided to go somewhere hotter then it already was here. Despite my complaining about the heat, crowds and a lot of walking, I think we all had a good time!

I do have to admit, I haven't really been too swollen this pregnancy other than my fingers a little, but down there with the heat and humidity, my ankles and feet were ridiculous! I just had to laugh at how fat my feet looked!

The Belagio is still probably my favorite hotel down in Vegas. I always like to see what they decided to decorate in there garden area!

What was originally thought to be a brief outing at Baby's R Us for shower ideas with Ty, my Mom, and Dad, turned out to be about a 2 hour shopping spree. I was able to register for some things and give ideas of what we were still needing. Once again just like registering for our wedding shower I had way too much fun with the registry gun! lol! I'm surprised I made it that long, I'm the type of person that has to be in the mood to shop, and lately (being pregnant and all) I'm just never in that mood. And I definitely know that Ty and my Dad aren't big on shopping either, but they were good sports about it! My mom on the other hand, she is the shopping Queen! She is always good to have around when it comes to shopping though because she doesn't miss a thing. I had to laugh a few times because she would pick something up I had put on the registry list and say, "Grandma needs to be the first to give him this!" I'm so thankful for my parents and all their love and support with this pregnancy!

After listening to Ty and my Dad discussing on where we should go eat for about the third time, I kinda had to push my Mom along so we could get going. Right when we were about to get in line to check out my Mom found a little Halloween display. First she saw the cutest little booties, they made me laugh how little and sweet they were. Then she saw this....

All I did was look at Ty and he said, " Yes, you can get it." Little did he know I was going to anyways, it just helps to have his approval! Just kidding babe! I know it will probably be too big, but I can't wait to see him in it!

Just to fill you in on what has been going on lately. Tyler and I have been town home hunting, and it has been pretty successful so far! We really like a couple that are in West Jordan, and are contemplating on making an offer on one! I really like it a lot, and can really see us living there! I especially like the fact that the people who are living there now painted it very cute and re-carpeted! We are still narrowing our choices down, and might go out again next week, but hope to have something picked out by next month!

As for me I'm doing pretty good. My kidney infection started coming back again for the third time...so annoying! It is pretty painful when it is first coming on, just a constant stinging pain on my right lower back, whether I'm standing, walking, sitting, or laying. But once I take some Tylenol it goes away for a little bit. So once again I had to go take another culture, and was prescribed an antibiotic that is this huge horse pill! It takes my body a day or two to get used to it and I usually throw up the first day or so. It's no fun, but at least it's trying to keep me healthy, and it doesn't harm the baby. I just keep asking myself, why does it keep coming back, and how many times am I going to have to go through this before he is born? The only thing I can keep telling myself is at least I can catch the symptoms before it comes on too strong, and I haven't had to stay in the hospital for a long time like the first time! Thank heavens! Only 7 more weeks to go!

Over the weekend Ty and I went up to Jordanelle Reservoir to do some fishing and relaxing, and that's just what we did. We got up there about 4 and set up our chairs right by the lake, I of course just relaxed and read while Tyler fished. Even though he didn't catch anything I could tell he still had a lot of fun getting out and doing it, and I had fun getting out too! It was perfect weather as well, it was overcast and made it a lot cooler for us up there! When Ty was fed up with not catching anything we found a camping spot with a fire pit to cook the Hobo Dinners we made...they are one of my favorite things about camping. If you have never tried them, I suggest you do!!

While we were cooking the dinners on the fire, we noticed how amazing the sun set was. It has been so pretty lately with all the reds and oranges, probably from all the fires.

So by the time we were done cooking our dinner it was a little after 9 and pretty much dark out. And of course I don't have a working flash light in my car and we didn't think to bring one, or a lantern, so we got to eat in the dark! It was fun though because we just sat and talked and laughed a lot. But then all of a sudden we both heard this loud stomping coming from the bushes, to look up and see a deer up on this little hill about 10 or 15 feet away from us, it scared up both pretty bad! She of course freaked out and ran, but later returned right by us again and Tyler was able to snatch a picture of her...

I was just shocked at how close she was to all the campers, and I was really scared that someone might hit her with their car.

Then on the way home we decided to take Parleys Canyon, so we could get a straight shot at the freeway. Bad bad idea, we had no idea they were doing construction and has it going from 3 lanes down to 1. So we were stuck in the canyon for about an hour and a half, and didn't get home till like 12:30. But it was all worth it was all fun and worth it!

LOL! Forgive me I thought I was being creative on the title, even though it is pretty silly! But thats ok I guess because I still feel pretty silly posting a picture of my big old belly! I did get a lot of requests though, so here it is......

And yes it is only my mid-section because I just don't enjoy face pictures anymore, not only am I puffing out in the center but I seem to be doing it everywhere! ha! I like to consider it a more swollen version of Alli! I just got done watching Juno (for the second time) with Tyler and that was a quote from it. It is a good movie, and easy to relate to the funny pregnant lines now that I am actually pregnant, except for the fact that I'm not 16...thank heavens! But it really got me thinking about about all the emotions I'm feeling, for one I'm super excited and also I'm starting to get a little more nervous about getting things ready, the delivery, and just overall being a good mom!

Only a little over 2 more months to go!!!

Tyler's Birthday!

Yesterday was Ty's Birthday and he turned 23! I felt bad that he had to work on his birthday, but his hours are pretty nice that he was done by 11, so we spent the afternoon just hanging out together. We went to the wonderful Cafe Rio for dinner and then headed off to the 311 concert (I had bought the tickets at the first of the month for him). Even though I haven't been in the best of health this last week I wasn't going to let that ruin his Birthday, or seeing his favorite band in concert! I actually felt good last night and the heat was pretty tolerable when the concert started!

Ty and I thought that even though it was called 'The Unity Tour' it was still funny that Snoop opened for them, and to see the different groups of people that were there. We actually thought it was the BEST place for people watching, and even caught this guy in action! He was dancing his heart out while Snoop was performing and he just had no rhythm what so ever, but he kept us entertained!!

Overall the whole concert was really good, and we had so much fun!!

Our trip to the hospital...

Tyler and I went to the hospital on Monday for what we thought might be just a day, but turned out to be the longest scariest experience of our lives. To start off let me tell you about how it all started. Last Saturday my family and I went over to the South Jordan days and walked around the different rides while my nephew enjoyed riding them. We only stayed about an hour because it was still soooo hot even at 6:00. We went back to my parents to enjoy some pizza and fireworks that night. On the way home I mentioned to Tyler that I had a sharp pain in the right side of my stomach, but didn't think to much of it because 1) I am pregnant and 2) I thought maybe I overdid it a little walking around in the sun. So that night I probably slept for an hour the pain just got worse and I felt like I had a fever. The next day was even worse, I would get the chills, then a fever, and I had the biggest headache ever. We had to cut our dinner at Tylers family short because I was so miserable. That night Ty took my temperature and I was at 101.8. When I called the on-call doctor he made it sound like most pregnant women just get these types of fevers and to just drink cold liquids and take some tylenol, and that if it weren't gone by the morning then to call the hospital or go in. So Monday morning I woke up in a cold sweat and threw up a couple times, so I gave my OB's office a call. The nurse there said that some of those symptoms sounded like an apendicitice and that I needed to go to the ER asap. As soon as I told Tyler what she said we were in the car and on our way to the hospital (I'm so lucky he has the hours that he does because he was home with me then). We got to the hospital about noon and they first took us to labor and delivery to make sure everything was going ok with our baby, and they were! They then sent us down to the ER to find out what was wrong with me. Before even getting in we had to fill out the same paper work we already had and we sat in the lobby for about 2 or more hours. When we finally got back into a room they ran a couple different tests on me to see what might be wrong. To make a LONG story short I ended up having a mild kidney infection and developed ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). With the ARDS, my lungs had started to fill with fluids and I was't getting enough oxygen. For about a day and a half I was in the ICU, hooked up to oxygen, and all these different wires so that my oxygen level would go back up again. ARDS is very rarely developed along with the kidney infection for pregnant women and can usually take weeks to recover from it, but I was bound and determined to work hard on my breathing to get my oxygen back up. The doctors said I recovered so quickly because I have always been so healthy. I was finally able to leave Saturday afternoon, and was so glad to be out of there!! Now I am just resting and taking it easy! Now I can honestly say that after spending a week in different parts of the hospital, hooked up to so many things, having my blood drawn 10 different times and given different shots and IV's that I really dislike it there (and I'm NOT a fan of the food at all!)

Hooray! Tyler and I found out last week that we are having a boy, and we couldn't be more excited! Now we can start decorating a room and narrowing down names! As for me I am still trying to get used to being pregnant, and all the emotions that come along with it! Ha ha! Sometimes I wonder what Tyler is thinking when all of a sudden I have an outburst! But besides the emotional part I have felt pretty good, I don't really get sick, as long as I eat. So I'm thankful, because it could be a lot worse! I am also having a hard time with gaining the weight, I know it happens, but it's hard to look at all my 'normal' clothes in the closet and to see really cute clothes when I'm out shopping and know that I can't fit into any of them! But I'm getting more and more used to it now. And I definitely know that it will be totally worth it when our little babe is here with us!

A lot has changed...

Wow it's been awhile since I have been able to update this, it's funny how busy you can find yourself sometimes. Today I was going through some of our honeymoon pictures and decided to put some up since I never really did after the wedding. We got married January 9 at Heritage Gardens, it was amazing! We spent our honeymoon in Orange County, California and I wish I was still there sometimes!!

Of course we went to Disneyland! I absolutely love it there, I feel like it's my first time going each time, even though I have been there a million times! I feel like a kid again!

Isn't that classic! ha! We also went over to California Adventure, that place is always fun too! I would have to say my favorite ride is Soaring Over California! I think every state should have a ride like this at a theme park!

This one is at Knotts Barry, it was the first time either of us had been there, and when we walked in I felt like two kids at a candy store! The rides where huge, and so much fun! The best part about it was there were no lines really because of the time of year it was!

Tyler served his mission down there so he took me to a lot of cool sites I had not seen in Orange County. We also enjoyed driving up and down the coast and watching the sun sets! They are always my favorite there, the polution seems to make it even more beautiful, especially with the ocean! On the second to last day there we took a boat out to Catalina Island! It was so amazing out there!! I don't know how many times I told Tyler I would LOVE to retire out there some day! ha! Overall the trip was AWESOME, and it just didn't seem to last long enough!
But like I said a lot has changed since just 4 months ago! We lived with my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew for a little bit and had so much fun hanging out with them and learning from them. We then moved into our appartment almost 2 months ago, and it has been keeping me busy! I really enjoy it here...for now! But most of all we are expecting!!! I am really so excited! Pet/House Sitting

So for the past 8 days Tyler and I stayed at my aunt and uncles house in South Jordan and watched their dog and my cousins dog, and some fish in their pond, while they were on vacation. Seems like a pretty easy job right...well it kinda was except for the fact that their dog, Jasmine, is getting really old to the point where every step she takes seems painful. So we had to have a lot of patience with her. And the other dog is a beautiful but high maintenance Great Dane named Diesel.

The reason I say high maintenance is because she has an eye condition right now and requires eyedrops every morning and night, she sleeps right next to the bed, and she's a pretty picky eater. But she is really such a lovable dog and is so much fun to play with, I can see why my cousin treats her like a child. The tough part about the whole thing was making it through the night without having to get up and let one of them outside to go to the bathroom. It made for one sleepless week. We had a good time with the animals, were able to catch up on a lot of movies, and successfully non of the animals died, but thats a whole other story! Ha!

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is here, you see.
We'll pick some shamrocks, one, two, three.
We'll count the leaves and look them over,
And maybe find a four-leafed clover.
I'll sew green buttons on my vest,
Green for St. Patrick is the best.
I'll wear a green hat, very high,
And dance a jig--at least I'll try!

I remember when I was in elementary school, and St. Patricks Day was always so exciting! You get to wear green, one of my favorite colors, and you got to pinch whoever didn't wear it. I remember kids always saying their underwear was green. ha! Teachers always made it fun too, leaving tiny green footprints all around and having pots of gold (chocolate)! I like to think it's still fun to carry on the tradition even as I get older. So even though I am stuck at home sick...I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day!

Spring Fever!

So the past few days have been so nice outside, and it is getting me so excited for spring and summer! I have been so sick of winter since mmm...about January! So it's about time we stop having storms and get to enjoy the sun shine! Now I just can't wait for flowers to bloom and things to start looking pleasant again. I think I get a little depressed in the winter always being cooped up inside. I guess i just wish winter were only 2 months instead of spreading it out to 4. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather as much as me!

Valentines Day made me think of all the people in my life that I love and respect very much. So here I go....

Mi Amor, and my very best friend! I appreciate every little thing you do and have ever done for me. I look up to you in so many ways, and can't wait for the day our kids feel the same way! I can't believe it's been 10 months since we've been together, it seems like just yesterday was our first 'date', when you stole my heart. I am so thankful you chose me, and I am so honored to spend the rest of my life with such an amazing man! I love you with all my heart and always will!

Mom & Dad you are my heros! You both have always supported me and loved me no matter what. I appreciate how hard you always worked to provide your family with the best of everything! Tyler, my husband, is pretty humorous if you ask me, sometimes he has that kid at heart thing about him. I didn't quit realize that until I was introduced to these bad boys when we were dating!

To be honest my first impression when he asked if I wanted to wear them was pretty questionable, I had that sort of look of disgust on my face. But after putting them on and strutting around in them I loved them, they are pretty comfy too! And I absolutely love the reactions people give him, a 22 year old man in little boy slippers!
